Coffee in Sydney

I originally thought it would be great to do a salon -you know, where we all prepare little 3 minute talks on a bunch of random topics. I love that kind of thing. But I’m probably being all American and overly-enthusiastic when just a cup of coffee and a chat will do.

So if you’re in Sydney next Friday (the 27th) at 11am, drop by Strawberry X on Mary & Reservoir in Surry Hills.

All are welcome. It’ll be good to get out of the office and talk to other people.

Or perhaps it will just be me alone in a booth in the back presenting my 3 minute “Brand Hijack” presso to the awkward waiter who’s politely trying to excuse himself.

    Coming to Melbourne?

  2. Emily Says:

Sadly, not for awhile. But would love to hook up next time I am. Or when you’re in Sydney.

You could start the coffee mornings Melbourne and our groups could call each other to heckle - start some sort of rivalry.

Hey waiters are a tough audience … so if you can keep them interested (without a tip) for more than a minute you are doing well.

  4. Emily Says:

I find the promise of a tip works well. The American accent helps with that. If you’re back from Chicago by then, you should stop by.

  5. Michelle Says:

    Looking forward to it.

Oh what a shame, I’ve always wanted to go to Russell’s but never get across the channel and was then in Sydney for the last two and a half weeks - had I been there next week I would have definitely joined you. Another time.

  9. Emily Says:

Sorry to miss you both Michelle & Kirsty. Although Paris sounds a tad more interesting than Brisbane. Or is it just me?

    Hi Emily,
If I’m free that morning I will try and head along for a chat. I’ve been scouting around for fellow Sydney bloggers in the field and either they’re few and far between or I’m crap at finding them!

Man I love passion with a purpose. This week there’s been a brilliant conversation, a sentiment and spirit that has been growing in momentum and seems to be about to flower.
